About The Role
Arbor mobility, Bengaluru based start-up and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) are collaborating for the development of a high current compact motor controller for a performance electric motorcycle. The development will primarily happen in IISc laboratory. We are looking for two excellent research engineers for this challenging project that involve design, fabrication, and testing of a complete traction motor controller.
MCU Hardware Engineer role at Arbor Mobility will be responsible for development of next generation power converter, firmware and software development for automotive applications.
The academic and start-up environment will provide ample opportunity for publication and filling of patents. You will be a core member of the team developing hardware and software for Motor controller including implementation and testing.
Key Responsibilities : -
1. Development: -
Read data sheets and reference designs of different power electronic components.
Hardware selection for MCU based on detailed design calculations as per functional requirements of MCU.
Schematics design, PCB layout, Component selection and BOM creation
Perform electronic circuit simulation for Circuit Design
CAD, Thermal Design in Ansys/SolidWorks
Busbar design using Ansys/ Maxwell
Magnetics design using Ansys/ Maxwell
Power Electronic converter design, fabrication, and testing
Do relevant data collection for estimating motor parameters.
Ensure that motor controller hardware designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
2. Prototyping and Testing: -
Provide technical support during prototype manufacturing and assembly
Assist in the creation of prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts
Analyze test data and refine designs based on test results
Support certification and compliance testing processes.
3. Collaboration: -
Collaborate with other teams to come up development timelines for MCU
Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand system requirements and define technical requirements for MCU
Collaborate with other teams for meeting vehicle level requirements and support vehicle integration activities
Ensure that motor controller hardware designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
4. Documentation and Reporting: -
Ensure proper documentation of schematics design, PCB layout, BOM and design specifications.
Document data collected for parameter estimation.
Maintain a comprehensive test case matrix to track completion of functional requirements of Arbor MCU.
