About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Technical Project Manager to work directly with our co-founder in managing complex automotive engineering projects. This role requires a unique blend of strong technical expertise and proven project management skills to oversee day-to-day engineering activities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of automotive development programs. The ideal candidate will work very closely with the co-founder in driving technical initiatives and maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: -
Work closely with the co-founders to translate strategic technical vision into actionable project plans and deliverables
Manage and coordinate multiple concurrent automotive engineering projects from concept through production
Oversee daily activities of engineering teams including CAD, simulation, battery pack design, vehicle design, power electronics hardware and testing teams
Track project progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence
Facilitate technical reviews, design meetings, and cross-functional collaboration sessions
Manage resource allocation and workload distribution across engineering disciplines
Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverable quality while maintaining technical standards
Lead technical problem-solving sessions and escalate critical issues to Co-founders with recommended solutions
Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and technical communication to leadership
Support recruitment and onboarding of technical talent in coordination with the Co-founders
Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements across all projects
Coordinate prototype development, testing campaigns, and validation activities
Manage vendor relationships and technical partnerships for specialized services
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes and methodologies
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineer or related technical field
5+ years of experience in automotive engineering project management or technical leadership roles
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in automotive development (powertrain, vehicle systems, or electric vehicles)
Deep understanding of automotive development processes from concept to production
Knowledge of automotive industry standards, regulations, and testing procedures
Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Stage-Gate)
Strong analytical skills with ability to understand technical challenges and solutions
Experience in electric vehicle development and battery systems
Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles
Knowledge of automotive supply chain management and vendor coordination
Background in startup or fast-paced automotive development environment
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with proven ability to handle multiple priorities
Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams and driving results
Skills in conflict resolution and stakeholder management
About the Company
Arbor Mobility is a 2W EV start-up based out of Bengaluru, India. We at Arbor Mobility are developing a performance two-wheeler EV motorcycle. The three Co-Founders have done their Masters in Automotive Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and have worked for various Automotive companies in India and the USA and are now determined to create something exciting in the EV space. The company was started in November, 2022 and is now rapidly expanding. We, at Arbor Mobility are trying to answer the basic question of how to increase the adoption of EVs in India. EV usage is a paradigm shift in consumer behaviour. It requires us to think how to tackle the issues such as charging, range anxiety & safety for a consumer.
